I love the shape of leafless trees that we can only see during winter. With fog as a backdrop, we get to see the shapes with a beautiful blurry edge.
These are trees from my street.
The thing that’s so difficult for me about winter is how stark and colorless it is. But its starkness can also be very beautiful.
We had thundersnow in Chicago this week, in addition to freezing fog (still not sure what that is), rain, snow, and sleet. We’re an all-accumulation destination here.
Sour Cream Cherry Bars
These bars are yummy! The crust is basic–flour, sugar, and butter, pressed into the bottom of a pan, and then baked. Then a filling of cherry pie filling, sour cream, and almond extract, and then topped with toasted almonds.
This is one of DiDi H.’s wonderful recipes.
Thank you, DiDi!
