On Saturday morning I went to the Trailside Natural History Museum in Maywood, near Forest Park to go on a fitness hike. I’m not sure how “fitness-y” it was. We simply walked slowly, with some natural guidance from our guide, over the snow-packed, icy trails. We saw about 12-15 deer, and I got some awesome photos.
The guide told us that these white-tailed deer put up their tails to show that white streak when danger is near.
Some pretty clouds filled the big skies over this large field.
And then once we finished our hike, I was able to view their caged animals, a red fox,
a great-horned owl,
and a red-tailed hawk.
Want to know how to make delicious pecans taste even better? Slather them with butter and sugar! This super duper easy recipe does just that. Cook pecans with a little butter and sugar for about 5-10 minutes until the sugar and butter are liquid and evenly covers the pecans. Then spread on a greased cookie sheet to cool.
These will go in my care packages to my niece and nephews too–once I re-make the cookies!
