Main Dish – Chicken in Wine Sauce

Another Movie Review

Watched “Prisoners” over the weekend with Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal. Wowee zowee, what an intense movie. It’s about the abduction of two young girls and the ensuing drama follows the families–the measures they go to for their children–and the dogged persistence of a police detective. Some disturbing elements, like torture, kidnapping, and murder make it unsuitable for kids, but it’s the kind of police drama that is entertaining while showing the ugly underbelly of the human experience. Worth seeing.

Chicken in Wine Sauce

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

This dish starts with cubed chicken, dredged in seasoned flour and then browned a bit in butter. Then Marsala wine (or actually Madeira, but I couldn’t find it), chicken broth, and garlic are cooked until well blended.

The wine sauce is poured over the chicken. Then sliced mushrooms with a bit of lemon juice are added back to the pan. Finally, mushrooms cover the chicken and wine sauce and cooked in the oven for 30-50 minutes.

And look how great it came out!

I was poking around online and realized this might be the same as chicken marsala, only I think normally it’s served as a chicken cutlet, rather than with diced chicken.

Either way, it’s delicious! Thank you, Cheryl D. for submitting this amazing dish!
